UPDATE (7:04 PM): Brown has been released on bail after blowing at least .08 on his sobriety test, according to TMZ.
UPDATE: TMZ reports that Brown's "people are en route to the jail to bail him out."
PREVIOUSLY: Bobby Brown was arrested in Los Angeles Monday afternoon on suspicion of drunk driving, TMZ reports.
Brown was initially pulled over by the California Highway Patrol at 12:20 PST for talking on his cell phone, before the situation escalated to a potential DUI.
According to Gossip Cop, Brown was given a sobriety test, blowing a 0.12. The 43-year-old singer was then taken directly to Van Nuys jail. If he's convicted, this will be the second DUI for Brown -- his first was in Georgia in 1996.
Brown's arrest comes on the heels of a traumatic month for the Brown-Houston family. Following Whitney Houston's Feb. 11 death, the legendary singer's ex-husband received a media lashing for not immediately taking a flight to be by daughter Bobbi Kristina's side. Brown once again faced negative headlines afterleaving the funeral of his ex-wife and the mother of his daughter early, due to a seating disagreement.
Bobbi Kristina -- who serves as the sole heir to Houston's estate -- has also been feeling the media's scrutiny, as rumors of a relationship with her unofficially adopted brother, Nick Gordon, recently surfaced.
Brown's arrest also comes shortly after the release of Houston's cause of death. It was confirmed that there was cocaine present in the singer's system at the time of her death, contributing to her accidental drowning.
